Helping Kansas City become a “Zero” Community.
The Greater Kansas City Coalition to End Homelessness is HUD's (the US Housing Department) lead Continuum of Care (CoC) for the Kansas City Metro area. Their role in the community is to distribute HUD funding to other homelessness-focussed organizations in the KC Metro according to how they see best accomplishes HUD's guidelines.
Before we came along, GKCCEH was operating off an old Squarespace site and doing their best to self manage and update their site, but it grew to be too big of a task to handle in house.
We provided some relief by partnering with GKCCEH to redesign the website and provide ongoing support, maintenance, and content writing. Our work has put GKCCEH on the short list of other area CoC's to model after when it comes to how to present online.
Our goal was first to update and refresh the look of the site. Second, we needed to build a CMS to be able to efficiently display information without recreating it each time. Third, the website lacked organization, so we made it a priority to clearly organize the new website for user experience.
